About The Choate Agency

Mickey began his career in publishing in 1985 in the publicity and subsidiary rights department
of Weidenfeld & Nicolson/Grove Press (now known as Grove/Atlantic, Inc.).

Born and raised in New York City, Mickey attended Trinity High School and Vassar College where he received his BA in history in 1984. In 1990, he joined Lescher & Lescher, Ltd., a renowned literary agency founded by the late Robert Lescher in 1964. While serving as the foreign rights/contracts manager, he began to represent his own clients.

His passions other than books and his family are cooking, wine and music. Most weekends he can be found in his kitchen whipping up three star meals for his family.
